Missing Y'all Already / Pandemic Blues

Trying hard to remember the last time we had to cancel a show for any reason at all, but these are strange days, indeed. "The show must go on" is now (sadly) "until further notice..." Certainly happened quickly and what, at first, was a band decision to try and do the responsible thing by our fans and friends, in no time at all became a directive to stay home. And here we are - missing your friendly faces and wishing we could play for y'all.

But, we'll get through this, together, 'cause that's what music does - brings us together to share some love and have a damn good time. So, stay healthy. Be smart. Love each other, and keep an eye and an ear out for the creative ways we'll try to stay in touch, musically, until this all blows over and we're able to meet up again, in person, and share some tunes.  With love and gratitude, to our fans, friends and fellow musicians - The Muddy Roses

New Tunes In The Works

We've got some really fun gigs lined up and that means some great opportunities to hear some of our new tunes. Audience reactions are the best ways for us to try new material on for size and polish our arrangements. If you've been to any of our recent shows then you already know that we've sprung a few newer songs on you and there are a couple more in the pipeline and nearly ready for public consumption. Hammering out fresh material will pave the way for The Muddy Roses to get back into the studio and record our second collection. To that end, we've already laid down some pre-production tracks as we gear up to release our follow-up EP. We'll keep ya posted here on the site and look forward to playing the new ones for you live!

Another chance...

So my previous band (this is Diana writing) got permanently 86'd from The Rite Spot about a decade ago, and I haven't been back since. Can't wait to see if the Roses can all behave ourselves and stay in the venue's good graces...

Reviews for the EP!

“There’s a very authentic, rootsy sound to The Muddy Roses that doesn’t come across my desk very often. The Muddy Roses have their own sound, blended together with country and Americana influences to great effect...this is absolutely an EP worth exploring in great depth.”

Brett David Steward - full review in The Independent Spotlight

"The attention to detail and creativity is over the top on this recording. From beginning to end, this record drips class, talent and truth...It flows with an Americana roots soul, all shrouded in a subtle veil of heartbreaking country melancholy...this is an awesome group, with delightful harmonies, tight instrumentals, and original songwriting...The Muddy Roses practically deserve their own genre.”

The Muddy Roses / Beckylin & Her Druthers

Winters Tavern, 1522 Francisco Blvd., Pacifica, CA 94044

The Roses are back at one of our favorite "dives" - Winters Tavern. We'll be sharing this fun evening with our friends, Beckylin & Her Druthers - a local country band dedicated to recreating the glamour of early 1970s TV Country. They call it "wig country." We call it a rowdy good time. Take a break from all of the holiday music you'll be hearing right about then and join us at Winters!

The Monkey House is a great little theater with unusually good acoustics. We're going to flash our acoustic side for this one and will have some new material to share as well. Joining us is the amazing Dillbilly. You won't want to miss this one. Seating is limited, so put it in your calendar and we'll see ya there!

Special House Concert w/The Muddy Roses

San Francisco, 94110

The Muddy Roses invite you to join us for a special house concert--make that a loft concert. We'll be playing in a dreamy artist's space with nooks and crannies to explore, objets to spark conversation, and lounge furniture on which to to sprawl. Snuggle up on the sofa, mingle by the wood-burning--well, who wants wood smoke? so make that LED-twinkling--stove, soak up some sounds and take a Sunday respite from the seasonal holiday whirl. Please feel free to fuel the good times with potluck dishes to share, and BYOB. And if you want to show up in black with a beret, all the better!

There is limited availability for this show and, out of respect for the host's wishes, we're not publishing the street address at this time (it's in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco). Please contact us at themuddyroses@gmail.com or a facebook private message if you are interested so we can get you set up with a ticket and reserve you a spot. We'll accept donations on a sliding scale starting from $0 up to $15, but truly most important is your company and good fellowship (and maybe a little noshing and booze).
